Food Not Bombs North Charleston
For the last eight years Charleston FNB has served North
Charleston a free lunch. We are a loose knit group of individuals and friends,
with no leaders, who share a politically radical idea: everyone is entitled to
a free warm meal no matter what their economic class or social status. We
serve a free and hearty meal to anyone and everyone. We work together to
produce, acquire and redistribute our most valuable resource: FOOD. Through
donations, gardens, and scavenging we are able to take the surplus food that
would otherwise be thrown away as refuse of our capitalist consumer culture
and prepare with it, free vegetarian meals to the community. We operate
without a budget and provide our area with an economically autonomous
grassroots community empowering tool.
North Charleston Food Not Bombs is
every Sunday. We begin cooking at 10:00am at 10 Newnan St. We serve at 1:00pm
on Rivers Ave. outside the abandoned Bojangles.

Collective Homestead Project
The Collective Homestead Project is a social and political experiment in
practical living. With a generous allocation of 7 acres and a house in the
beautiful South Carolinian countryside, Charleston FNB is seeking to create a
source of nutrition, recreation, and education. An ambitious project, we seek
to create a small scale agricultural site based on sustainability and
community. This project is still in its' beginning stages. We are actively
seeking responsible and interested individuals to get involved and follow
their passions and interests at the homestead. Our goals are to provide a
constant source of food for statewide Food Not Bombs projects and a place for
individuals to explore a different lifestyle.
At this point, workdays are the only time the homestead is accessible. If you

Reclaim Charleston
We are organizing for social justice
around issues like housing, police violence, the shelter-industrial
complex, homelessness, and rights to housing and public space. Our
first mission with this email is to set up a consensus decision making
network of people to defend the current housing foreclosures, resulting
from the economic crisis and in general. We feel that necessities like
housing and food are a right, not a priviledge. Every time i read a
story about a family losing their home or see pictures of piles of
possessions on the side of the road, my stomach aches.
Indeed,
bearing witness to the decaying of our neighboorhooods and the
suffering of our neighbors can conjure up some serious feelings of
being, well, powerless to the foreclosure storm. Not to mention
downright furious about how irresponsible and illogical our nation's
response has been to this housing mess
We want to collectively build "Home Defender Teams." These teams will
be prepared to mobilize on short notice to help defend a family's right
to stay in their homes. We are seeking to build phone and email lists.
We are also planning a radical political arts festival that will be
centered around the issues of gentrification, housing, and public space
in the fall.
If you would like to be involved or have any ideas, just contact us through the email below.
